Anti Virus Protection

Anti virus protection is pretty much a must have for anyone that uses the internet often. I thought I would save a little cash and went without anti virus protection on my notebook when I first got it, and after only two months I had to take it in for a serious set of repairs due to all the destruction done to it by viruses.

The guy at the computer repair shop, who also happens to live across the road from me, told me that he had never seen a computer so riddled with viruses and spyware. When he asked what type of anti virus protection I had been using, I said "nothing", and he just about fainted.

I guess I would still been in the mindset that viruses are a rare and improbable phenomenon that only really unlucky folks get afflicted with. Sort of like a digital version of Ebola.

Sure, Ebola is scary as all heck, but come on. How many individuals get Ebola every year' What, like five' I remember when viruses first began appearing in the media, some ten or fifteen years ago. Everyone was afraid of them but no one actually got one.

Anti Virus Program

I'll be the first to admit that I'm an Internet junkie. Whenever I have free time, I like to surf the web looking for some entertaining sites. I also like to download the myriad free (and legal) videos, MP3 samples, programs, demos, and games.

These things can keep me occupied for hours on end, so there's never a dull moment when I'm sitting at my monitor.

As you might expect from someone who is constantly online, I have run into a few problems over the years. Since I don't take the time to verify the integrity of each website before I visit it and since I'm sometimes too lazy to scan a download before I open it, I have picked up a few viruses along the way that have completely wiped my hard drive.

I lost everything I had on my computer at the time, including financial records, personal documents, e-mails, and digital photos. That's why I now make sure that I have the best anti virus program installed on my computer.

Anti Spam Software

Before the era of email, spam was called junk mail. Every day, even today, we would go to pick up our mail and all the offers would be there. These offers ran the spectrum from pizza to eye glasses to credit cards to clothes to home repair. Most of the time, these offers would go straight from the mail box to the garbage can and they would be totally ignored.

Spam is the internet version of junk mail. The amazing thing is that I still get a lot of junk mail, and now, I get a ton of spam too! Go figure! I am an anti spam person. I don’t want it and I don’t need it. I didn’t need to worry that there would be offensive junk mail in my mailbox or materials in my junk mail that would be offensive for my children to see. There were laws to keep that stuff away from my home.
